On April 7–8, 2026, Dr. Karol Łyziński completed the TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) course at the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) National Monitoring Center. This training is a recognized standard for preparing medical personnel to provide assistance in high-risk situations, including multiple and mass casualty incidents, violent incidents, and other crisis situations requiring simultaneous consideration of the threat and urgent medical needs.

The TECC course focuses on practical patient care in hazardous environments. It covers, among other things, the principles of massive hemorrhage control, MARCH assessment, securing basic vital functions, evacuating casualties, and organizing medical operations in situations of limited safety. This training combines clinical and operational dimensions and teaches decision-making under time pressure and complex emergency conditions. In the current security environment, TECC should also be viewed as a valuable tool for strengthening the preparedness of medical personnel in the context of building civil defense in Poland and increasing the resilience of the healthcare system to broadly defined crisis situations. The competencies developed during these courses align well with the need to build preparedness to respond to contemporary threats, so Dr. Karol Łyziński’s completion of the training is significant not only for individual professional development but also for strengthening competencies essential for disaster medicine and systemic crisis preparedness.
