On 3 August 2022, an infectious isolator of the BSL-3 protection level was delivered to the Department of Catastrophes and Emergency Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. The insulator manufacturer is EGO Zlin from the Czech Republic. The department is a research unit fully equipped with isolation equipment for the transport and treatment of patients suspected of suffering from a highly infectious disease, particularly dangerous and contaminated with highly infectious biological material.
The supplied CBRNE insulator with additional equipment has a pneumatic and modular design. At the moment, the Department has at its disposal infectious isolator modules, an air lock, a decontamination chamber for lying patients, and a vertical decontamination chamber for walking patients and medical staff.
The equipment was purchased for the implementation of the project entitled “Strengthening CBRNE Security – Coordination and Standardization”. The project is financed by the “Internal Affairs” Program implemented under the Norwegian Funds.
