On 7 December 2022, a seminar was held at the Voivodship Office, discussing the issue of dealing with a victim of a radiation emergency. Thanks to the initiative of the Maopolskie Voivode, a training was organized for people interested in the issues of providing assistance to a patient contaminated with radiation and irradiation. The training was carried out as part of the project entitled Strengthening security in the field of CBRNE – coordination and standardization (Strengthening CBRNE safety and security – coordination and Standardization) financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. During training, threats to rescuers, tactics and organization of rescue operations, radiation triage, medical decontamination, and treatment of patients with acute radiation syndrome were discussed.
